Depending on your event requirements and budget, MOTION can be anything from a duo to a 5-piece band. Most gigs are a combination of Jodie and one or more of her talented male musicians/vocalists, but we will work with you to provide the perfect combination for your event. Paul Winn - Guitars and Vocals
Paul is an established and sort after singer guitarist on the Sydney scene. He studied jazz at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music from 1991 – 1992 and received a diploma in jazz studies. Paul has also recorded 2 full length albums which have had airplay on radio and TV. His songs have been used in feature films, appeared on “Sounds like Café” and have also been remixed by other artists such as “Random Soul”. The Paul Winn Band has also supported bands such as James Reyne and Daryl Braithwaite.
Paul has composed tracks for “Heartbreak High”, the SBS series “The Human Brain”, the feature film “Blue Lies”, and over 10 TVCs. Paul has performed at many high profile events including a private dinner party for the Dutchess of York.He has recorded 2 full length cds and sold over 2 thousand cds. Has held residencies at The Dendy Bar for 2 years, Astral Bar at Star City for 1 year and Wentworth Sofitel for 2 years and has played over 2 thousand gigs in his life time.
His original music has had radio airplay on radio stations throughout most of the world.
Performed lead roles in musicals such as Seymour in “Little Shop of Horrors” and Scarecrow in “The Wiz”Runs and performs in the function band “Hipnosis” .The band is one of only a few Sydney bands at the top of the highly competitive corporate functions market.
Paul has a versatile repertoire and can perform songs in the style of artists such as Pete Murray, U2 and Jack Johnson. He can also play a selection of jazz in the style of Frank Sinatra, Micheal Buble and Harry Connick Jnr.

Emile Nelson - Vocals and Bass
Emile Nelson has an Associate Diploma in Jazz at Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Emile is a freelance bass player/vocalist/guitarist. He is comfortable in any musical situation from jazz to country, Latin, fusion, pop. He has recorded and played all styles. His main instruments are fretted and fretless 4 & 5 string basses, acoustic bass, stick bass and vocals.
In 1997 Emile was one of the 10 finalists in the worldwide Bass Player Magazine bass playing competition - the only finalist from Australia. After receiving his Associate Diploma in Jazz at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Emile furthered his studies and experience in New York. There he studied under John Patitucci, Lincoln Goines and Fred Klatz.
Emile has played and recorded with such diverse artists as Boney M, Jimmy Somerville (Bronski Beat, Communards) Christine Anu, Wendy Mathews, Vanessa Amorosi, Julian Lennon, Human Nature, Kate Cebrano, David Hasselhoff, Mig Ayesa, Marcia Hines, Glenn Shorrock (Little River Band), Mark Williams, Doug Parkinson, Australian Idol Band, Eurogliders, Patrizio Buanne, David Campbell, Jeff Duff, Don Burrows, James Muller Trio, Rocky Horror Show, Oh What a Night, Saturday Night Fever, Shout, Bobby Rydell, Marty Rhone, Living with Amy, Galapagos Duck, Fiddlers Festival, John Rowles, Marina Prior, Chad Wackermann. Sister Sledge, George Washingmachine, Billy Field, Jackie Orczasky, Daryl Somers, Craig Mclachlan, Cosima Deveto, Tommy Ticho orchestra, Jenny Teng, Faith Prince, John Paul Young, Russell Morris, John Foreman, and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
He has also taught music at the Australian Institute Of Music. In 1998 Emile released his debut album 'First up' an original world music fusion project featuring 20 of Sydney’s leading players.

Troy Smith - Vocals, Congas and Percussion
Troy Anthony Smith is a versatile entertainer who has been working full time professionally in the entertainment Industry for over 15 Years. A Singer, Dancer, Musician and Choreographer who has performed in and produced many shows Overseas and all around Australia.
Troy currently performs in Bands and Shows at many Exclusive Functions, Weddings especially, and Clubs with very well known artists in the entertainment industry. He has also performed with stars such as Human Nature, Doug Parkinson, Craig Mclachlin and John Stevens to name a few.
Troy’s energy, presentation, smooth vocal sound and charm are just some of the qualities most audiences have remarked about, and many times he has been told he sounds like the artists whose songs he sings. Troy’s repertoire is varied. He sings anything from Reggae to R & B and has performed at hundreds of high profile functions and weddings in his career.

Dean O'Leary - Guitar and Vocals
Dean has years of experience as a full-time musician. He began his musical journey, at the ripe old age of fifteen, playing guitar and side kick, for his singer/comedian father, Jack O'Leary.
After years of playing with various Sydney cover bands, he joined and performed for over seven years with ‘The Zips’ show band. Together they received numerous awards for their achievements in the entertainment industry.
Dean currently fronts his own band, ‘Dean O’Leary Band’, whom perform regularly around Sydney. Dean and band are in high demand appearing for corporate functions, hotels, clubs and many other venues in Australia. Jodie regularly sings with Dean’s band.
He recently toured, playing guitar and backing vocals for ‘Maxine Nightingale’, 70’s Disco icon who visited Australia from USA to tour here in Feb/March 2008.
In 2007, Dean won the ACE award for best ‘Solo Guitarist/Vocalist’. Last year in 2008, he won the ACE award for best ‘Cover Band Duo/Trio’.
Dean has a wide range of material to draw from for any situation, ranging from Rock, R&B, Jazz, Reggae with great songs from the past and present.
Dean has also been writing songs and playing guitar since the age of fourteen. He has recently produced and completed an EP of original songs, and is currently working towards a full length album.
Recently returning from tour dates in LA (USA) in April/May 2008, performing at 'The Pig and Whistle' and 'The Stone', both venues in Hollywood and 'World Cafe' and 'The Talking Stick', both in Santa Monica. Also performing at the infamous 'Kulaks Woodshed', which is streamed live to the world wide web for each performance.
His own brand of music has a wide range of influences and genre's musically laced through it, with a combination of pop, rock and blues, which he describes as rock/roots.

Garry Honor - Saxophone
Sydney-based musician Gary Honor has worked with many great artists in Australia and abroad. Gary is a dynamic, energetic and captivating sax player. He engages audiences with his energetic presence style. His musical talents have seen him record and share the stage with the likes of Dale Barlow (ex Art Balkey's Jazz Messengers), trumpeter James Morrison, Tom Politzer, Don & Bill Harris (Tower Of Power), Chops Horns (Alicia Keys Band), Frank Bennett and Sydney All-Star Big Band, Jeff Duff and the Prophets, Peter White, Jonathan Bulter, Israel Houghton, Guy Sebastian, Hillsong Music, the Australian Fabulous Blues Bros Show, The Enormous Horns. He also supported UB40's 2004 Australian tour, spent time with Australian Navy Band, recorded for American Gospel Award winning band 'Scat' and on an ARIA winning album for Darren Middleton (Powderfinger). While recently in London he recorded and performed with Groove Armada, Trinity Stone, Christian Fontana and The Basement Jaxx. He also played in Moscow with Joe Cocker and Johnny Gil and toured to Romania as part of a theatre show. Most recently was featured with 2007 debut Smooth Jazz artist of year, Oli Silk and 2008 debut artist of the year - Jackiem Joyner at the Jazztrax festival , Catalina Island, Los Angeles. On the same trip was also on a double-bill with Candy Dulfer at the Thornton Winery in Temecula. He is also featured on Oli Silk's 2008 Album - 'The Limits The Sky'. Back in Australia, Gary is performing regularly with the Peter Morgan Soul Band 'Soul Obsession', pop-funk outfit - 'Leroy', The Van Morrison Tribute Show and the Australian UB40 show, as well as with many of Sydney's finest DJ's. He also has produced and released 2 CD's under his own name as well as one for Sydney funk band - 'Bump City'.
